What is W.Y.S.K.?
The purpose of this program is to help defendants and their family members reduce the fear, stress, and anxiety associated with the criminal justice process in the Middle District of Louisiana and practical operation of the Bureau of Prisons (BOP). It is our hope that this information will provide you the necessary basic information to aide in addressing these legal issues. If convicted, information found here may allow you to receive the maximum benefit from this experience, despite the consequence, and lead to your successful reintegration into the community following your sentence.
Regardless of the stage you are in these proceedings, you and your family will benefit from the information provided. The first focus of the site is on the Court procedures followed in the Middle District of Louisiana.
We want to make it useful to you. If you have suggestions for improving the content of this website you can find an email link in the section entitled About Us. You can also make these suggestions to your pretrial or probation officer who will bring it to our attention.
In an effort to make this site as useful as possible we have obtained assistance from panels of persons who have been through the process as defendants and prisoners. We feel these persons will know most if not all of the questions uppermost in your mind. Even more important, having gone through the process they are aware of questions about information you may not yet know is significant. We have also sought the counsel of judges, attorneys, pretrial services officers and probation officers.
